Q&A: "I am a homosexual. I don't know what to do. I have suicidal thoughts."

Email question: “Hello, I am a member of the catholic church, but recently I have discovered that I am a homosexual. I don't know what to do. I have suicidal thoughts. Sometimes I feel like I am a pile of sin. Please help me, I don't know what to do with myself.”

Answer: Hello, you are only a homosexual if you accept that you are a homosexual. Reject this perversion with all your will, and even if you are tempted, say to yourself that you do not agree with it and that you don't want this. Also pray to God to deliver you from this inclination.

Do not say: I am a homosexual. Remember, if you do not agree with this and reject it and seek ways to come out of it, then you are not a homosexual.

If you are a member of the Vatican II sect and are living in heresy, then that may be one of many reasons for why you have this inclination. Please see this file for more information on Vatican II and sedevacantism:

If you live in impurity and masturbate or indulge in sinful thoughts, that is also one reason why people are delivered over to perverse and unnatural desires. The same is true for idolatry, i.e., you show excessive love and care for worldly things and people and neglect God.

Please read this article for help and deliverance for overcoming homosexuality:

Also, never lose hope in God and do not despair. So long as you have a will not to be a homosexual and avoid sin and love God then you are not a homosexual and God's friend. It is actually not so hard to be God's friend. Ask yourself, do you have a desire to avoid all sin or not? That is how you will understand if you are God's friend or not. Have hope!

The best way to overcome homosexuality is of course by prayer. If you do not pray for help in overcoming any sin or sinful inclination, do not expect to be successful.

Regarding the Holy Rosary, Sister Lucia told Father Fuentes in a famous 1957 interview:

“Look, Father, the Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Holy Rosary. She has given this efficacy to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all, spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world, or of the religious communities, or even of the life of peoples and nations that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary, we will save ourselves. We will sanctify ourselves. We will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls.”

Please read this article from another person who also had problem with sin and said he had lost hope. The recommendations apply as well to you:

Also, you may need to read this article below in order to stop exposing yourself to sexual temptations on the media and internet:

You will find all the instructions on how to surf the internet in a safe way (with image and ad blockers) and also read about the need not to watch secular media, such as the television. If you watch television or surf the internet with images on, you will expose yourself to innumerable temptations and hence expose your chastity. Not only that, but you are also exposing yourself to the occasion of sin and those who do this cannot be saved according to Church teaching.

Pope Innocent XI, Various Errors on Moral Matters #61, March 4, 1679: “He can sometimes be absolved, who remains in a proximate occasion of sinning, which he can and does not wish to omit, but rather directly and professedly seeks or enters into.” – Condemned statement by Pope Innocent XI.

The section in the link above is a bit long but very important, since it deals with avoiding sin and the occasion of sin. People who live in the occasion of sin may be delivered over to such things that you describe and they also expose themselves to impurity and to fall into masturbation and unchaste thoughts, which also is one of the mayor reasons for homosexuality.

Q&A: "I'm in real trouble I'm in mortal sin; I have Sacrilegious thoughts; I stopped praying; I have lost hope etc."

“Hello. I'm in real trouble. I'm in mortal sin. When I discovered about the Great Apostasy, I began to pray the Holy Rosary every day. But then something that never happened before began to affect me: sacrilegious thoughts started to just pop up in my mind. I did not want to have them, but even then they would come at any moment into my head. It began to affect my prayers. Everytime I tried to pray, these diabolical thoughts arose. I always had to stop the prayer to banish the thought as fast as I could. Then I began to doubt the effectiveness of my prayers, for hardly God, the Virgin and the saints would attend bad, interrupted prayers such as mine, especially with such horrible thoughts popping up in my head. One day, I was trying to pray the Rosary, but I couldn't do it. I couldn't go with that, not while those thoughts kept affecting me by making me feel ashamed and interrupting the prayer.

“I stopped praying and consequently I had felt dramatically. After some weeks, I had committed a mortal sin. Later, I had lost hope. I was thinking, "I'm going to hell anyway, what difference will it make to commit another venial or mortal sin?" Everything was going from bad to worse. I realized one thing during this time: the sacrilegious thoughts simply stopped. One day, I was reading about the so-called "final impenitence" and how death can come at any time. I was clearly in a state in which I could not be forgiven of my sins, so I tried to achieve the state of grace. At the first time I prayed again, the sacrilegious thoughts came at full strength. I was very ashamed of myself when I tried to pray a Hail Mary. As Our Lord said, when a demon leaves, he returns to his home with other seven demons worse than the first. And I fell again, and currently my heart is petrified. I can't feel contrition, not even attrition. I try to reflect on how I offend God, on His suffering, but it's empty. I try to reflect on Hell, but it does not scare me any more. I can't pray, due to the sacrilegious thoughts that will certainly return. I can't ask anyone to pray for me, because a saint would certainly ignore a prayer for someone who is in mortal sin. It's obvious that the petrified heart is the result of my impenitence: I got used to sin.

“But I did not die yet, after so many sins. If I died right now, I would go straight to Hell, and I would suffer intensely, for I denied God even though I had such a vivid knowledge of Him. I believe that if I am not dead yet, it's because I still have a chance of being saved, I just need to grab it and really fight to never fall again, because this may be my last chance.

But how do I do this?”

Jerome: Hi Erick. Thank you for contacting me. I will try to help you to the best of my abilities. May God’s blessing come upon you while reading this email and give you the light and hope that you are looking for.

If you think you are in mortal sin, then do all things possible to be forgiven and gain God’s friendship again. If you have a priest for confession, confess your sins and resolve never to offend God again with the same sin – and you will be forgiven. If you don’t have a priest, you can confess to any layman or even to me through email in order to get the sin out of you – and even if you can’t receive an absolution, the confession helps so much so that the devil’s power over you will be diminished and the friendship of God be found faster!

A holy angel spoke to the bride and said: “But what should the one who is full of the devil do, since the good Spirit cannot enter him who is full of evil? He should do three things: First, he should make a pure and complete confession of his sins. Even if he cannot directly feel a complete remorse for his sins due to his hardened heart, still the confession will benefit him so much that the devil ceases with his treachery and yields to the good spirit. Second, he should be humble and wish to amend for all the sins he has committed and do the good deeds he can, and then the devil will begin to leave. Third, he should beseech God with humble prayer in order that he may get the good Spirit back and have contrition for the sins he has committed along with true divine love, since the love for God kills the devil. This devil is so envious and full of malice that he would rather die a hundred times than see someone do God the least little good deed out of love.” (The Revelations of St. Bridget, Book 1, Chapter 54)

Also pray that the Holy Spirit may be given back to you. When a person commits a mortal sin, the Holy Spirit leaves and the Evil Spirit approaches instead. (By willfully committing deliberate venial sin, the Good Spirit also diminishes in a soul and gives way to the Evil Spirit). Also pray for the gift of tears, and try to cry for having offended to good God by your sins – when we cry genuine tears for our sins for the Love of God, we will feel forgiven and honest in our good will and love towards God and that we have done a good thing (i.e., crying for God’s sake and for having offended Him), and consequently, this will make us feel that we have gained back God’s friendship. Since we must have hope in God’s goodness and of being forgiven, it is always good to hope that we are forgiven instead of just living in fear and despair of not being able to be Saved. We must have peace in our souls (such as the peace found in God’s friendship and in the thought that He wants us good and that he desires to Save us) and if we lack this inner peace, it will be harder for God to work with us. Find peace first and have an intention of pleasing God in everything, and you will find God and forgiveness. The easiest way of finding peace is simply just to repent of the sins committed honestly along with an intention of not committing them again.

Some recommended prayers:

Do you want to give up all your sins for the love and friendship of God because you consider His friendship and love more important than your own will and attachment to sin? If you have such a disposition of pleasing God in everything and of pleasing Him more than yourself, consider yourself forgiven.

If you have a hard heart, pray for the grace of gaining a softer Heart for the Love of God – a heart that cares more about God and the things of God so that you will be thinking more of pleasing Him in your daily life. Remember this: even if you don’t feel any tears or sorrow at first, this in no way means that you are damned or that God won’t forgive you. Some people have harder to cry and “feel” sorrow, while others have easier. God sees your intention (i.e., if you have an intention of pleasing Him and better yourself), and judges you accordingly. Pray for a good death everyday and that you will die in His grace since this is the most important grace of all; without it, everything will be lost in the end!

Please continue to pray the Holy Rosary and other forms of mental or vocal prayers everyday, and do not let the devil or your own confusion deceive you into stop praying. (See http://www.catholic-saints.net/rosary/ for the information on How to Pray the Rosary). Without prayer you will infallibly be lost; and also, without spiritual reading, you might not save yourself. Prayer is more important than reading, but spiritual reading will help you stay focused on what to do in your spiritual life, and through reading, God will also be able to speak to your heart. Pray especially those prayers that speak to your heart and good desires, such as Prayers to the Holy Spirit, or Jesus Crucified or Jesus Merciful (meditating and thinking on the Passion of Jesus is the easiest way of finding the Love of God), or any prayer to the Holy Mother of God in order to gain Her protection and friendship. Those who are genuinely devoted to the Blessed Virgin Mary will never be lost, according to the unanimous teaching of theologians – and that is why we must never stop addressing and approach Her in our thoughts and desires. Please read these important articles on the Love of Mary and the Importance of Devotion to Her:

Do not let sacrilegious thoughts affect your prayer. Provided the thoughts are against your will and you do not agree with them and oppose them, they will only gain you more merit for the eternal life. Since Satan wants you to avoid approaching God in your thoughts and stop praying/meditating, he will tempt you for a while with this intention in mind with God’s permission. But this is only a test and provided you move forward in your spiritual life, these thoughts will be diminished and eventually go away. When Satan sees that he can’t make you fall with sacrilegious thoughts, he will instead focus on other temptations – such as sensuality, gluttony or pride. But this might not be something you have to worry about now or that affects you at present. But remember, when thoughts appear in your mind that are sinful and that you don’t agree with, such thoughts are not sinful in themselves and provided you reject them, you won’t be held liable or accountable for them. Also, the kind of life you live will also have an effect on the kind of thoughts you receive. If you live a bad life (if you live in deliberate venial sin or mortal sin) this will give the devil more power over you and hence, he will be able to tempt you more easily. The more you strive to live a holy life, the more will the devil’s power over you be diminished, and consequently, the bad thoughts become less and less.

However, even holy people and saints are not without temptations, and God often permits the devil to tempt even saints in order that their reward and crown in Heaven might be increased. When there is more fighting—there is more merit to gain.

I have written about temptations and bad thoughts previously and the reason for why they can appear and what to do about it. Please consult the following two articles for more help on the issue:

When bad thoughts appear, do not stop the prayer, just ignore the bad thoughts and put them aside gently. If you can’t put them aside gently, just try to ignore them and continue with your prayer. If you do so, you will gain immensely since when there is more fighting and combat in prayer, the reward and merit will be greater. Do not stop to pray and meditate because of bad thoughts or temptations. If you stop praying or meditating (i.e., if you flee from prayer) you let the devil win and you loose everything.

I remember the first time I read the Word of God in the New Testament. Every time I read the name of “God”, I got blasphemous thoughts in my mind. I did not know where these thoughts came from, nor did I agree with these thoughts, but it made me realize that something was happening. I did not let these thoughts get the better of me (with God’s grace, of course) and I continued to read the New Testament, and the sacrilegious thoughts eventually disappeared. What happened? Obviously, the devil was jealous and did not want me to continue reading, and so he tempted me with bad thoughts with the intention that I would perhaps stop reading or commit some sin. When people give in to bad thoughts – such as blasphemous thoughts – they might start to hate, and consequently they might feel a reluctance to continue reading and hence stop. That is why people who already hate God might not even start to read the New Testament or honestly think about God in their mind even in the first place. Had I not fought against my bad thoughts in the beginning of my conversion, I might have started to hate God instead.

When one prayer feels hard to pray, pray something else. It is better to pray something then nothing. Just praying the Hail Mary prayer without meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary is an immensely good and beneficial prayer by itself. (One don’t have to pray the Rosary in order to pray the Hail Mary prayer or the Our Father, but they can and should be said separately often during the day). I my self often just try to focus on the words of the Hail Mary prayer with the intention of pleasing the Blessed Virgin as much as possible. You can try to do the same if you have problems with praying, or if even this is hard for you, just pray the Hail Mary prayer faster without thinking much of the words, and you will also gain graces and help. If it is something I have noticed with the Hail Mary prayer is that it gives you good and holy thoughts, and also that it gives you insights into problems and issues you might want to fix in your spiritual or temporal life. I have not only noticed this my self, but also seen others testify to this effect. The Hail Mary prayers thus gives you tremendous graces, insights, good thoughts, and hope! So if you want hope, continue praying! Without prayer, you won’t have any hope of eternal life or of ever finding God. You might find “hope” in creatures, like atheists do, but this hope is false, and if your hope is not based on spiritual things, it won’t profit you anything for eternal life.

An email testimony about the Holy Rosary: “Due to your articles, I am now also praying the full 15 decades of the Rosary daily, in fact I had to reinvent my life, centering my daily routines around the Rosary. It was difficult at first, and unnatural, but as I persevered I started receiving incredible graces that I would have never imagined in my life, out of nowhere. I was shocked as to the coincidence of them as they started a few weeks after praying the Rosary and remained ever since! Currently I am reading your Padre Pio's book… Thank you Brothers, for the wonderful content and the effect it had on my life…”

Never say or think, "I'm going to hell anyway, what difference will it make to commit another venial or mortal sin?" It makes a tremendous difference! For by every new mortal sin committed, and especially if it is deliberate, a new Hell is created for yourself, so to speak. Also consider that God should be your best friend and hope for better things – why then offend Him more or think thoughts such as these against Him? What if your best friend made some offense against you, and instead of asking for pardon or thinking good of you for this mistake or offense, thought only of offending you more? Would this not be a strange, displeasing and offensive behavior from this so-called friend – and would it not make you feel sad and perhaps even justly angry with him? From this example one can see how wrong these thoughts are that you expressed. Please do not make your best friend sad by thinking of how to displease Him more!

Instead of thinking of displeasing God and sinning more against Him when one feels fallen or lost, one should instead consider and think thoughts like these: O my God and my Lord, even if I am damned I would still like to serve you and give you things (works, good deeds, charities etc.) and do things out of Love for you since you are worthy of this. Even if I am not saved and live a bad life, I will still try not to offend you deliberately with mortal or venial sin, and I will try to better my self. I might not live the best of life, but I will still try not to offend you with deliberate sins! I might fall or will into sins in the future because I am weak, but for the moment, I desire to please you and not sin anymore. And even should I go to Hell, I would like not to hate you there and if possible, even to love you! – I can promise you, if you think thoughts like this instead of thoughts on how to offend the good God more, all your despair and bad feelings against God will disappear – and you will feel hope and that the Good Spirit is approaching you. If you think good thoughts about God and yourself (i.e., hopeful thoughts), then God will think good about you and do good to you and give you all the graces necessary for saving your soul and feeling true joy and happiness in your life.

Also, if you feel bad, pray for the grace to feel happy! We can pray for anything that are not sinful or against God, but often we do not even think of praying for things like feeling happiness when being down etc. You can pray for anything, such as being the best friend of God and lover of God, to feel happiness, to gain wisdom, to gain the love of God, to gain charity and love of neighbor etc.

Please read the following important article that deals specifically with the issue of being forgiven one’s sins with or without priestly absolution – and what requirements and intentions are needed for being forgiven:

It is true that more demons will come to your soul and body provided you continue living in a bad will and in sin against the good God, but as fast as you change your will from sin, and start seeing hope and goodness in God, and you honestly consider how you will gain back God into your life, all the demons will be removed from you through God’s grace. Being in a state of grace is really all about intentions. What is your intention in life? To be God’s enemy, or His friend? If you want to be God’s friend, then God wants to be your best friend in return! Stop therefore to dwell on bad and negative thoughts about God and think instead of how you can be raised from the dead (mortal sin). Only if you don’t have an intention of serving God or avoid sin, should you rightly and justly dwell on such negative thoughts – such as that it will be impossible to be forgiven or feel repentance – because if one don’t want to be God’s friend or avoid sin, then one will be damned. But even if one is fallen so low as this, one should still not give up hope or fall into despair. As long as you wish to be saved, you can be saved and God will never abandon you, and He will remain with His Grace even until the last moment of your life.

If you need hope, please go to Our Blessed Lady, the Virgin Mother of God, Mary Most Holy. The Blessed Virgin Mary is God’s Grace to humankind for saving their souls easily. That is why Mary is called “Hope of the Despairing”, “Refuge of Sinners”, etc. Go to Her often, and especially when you wish and desire to gain back God’s friendship (or increase it when already had). One prayer from the Mother of God will gain back God into your life and it is not hard to gain the advocacy, friendship and love of Mary. All you have to do is to intend never to offend God again deliberately and to serve Him, according to your dispositions. That is all!

Please consult the following articles below that deals specifically on this topic. Read them all, since they will inflame your love for the Mother of God, Our Lady, Queen and Mistress. If you Love Mary, you Love God, and it is easier for many to love and approach Mary, since She is merciful and sweet. God is also merciful, but He is also just and Our Judge. But Mary is not Our Judge in this sense, and hence Her mercy and sweetness is more manifest and clear to many, since they don’t fear Her as they fear God.

You say you can’t ask anyone to pray for you! That is false! You must ask other people, and especially the Saints and the Virgin Mary, to pray for you when you feel down and in sin! How do you think you will rise up again otherwise after having fallen? By your own effort? Never! or through God’s Grace through His friends? Assuredly! If we can ask help from people on earth, then we can ask for help from our Heavenly family even more! Never forget that! The more sinful you are, the more help you need, and hence you should be asking all kinds of Saints – and especially those you are more attached to – too pray for you and help you to be Saved all the days of your life. Yes, if you are attached to some saint, try to find prayers that are addressed to them where you can specify requests that you want them to ask God for on your behalf. I will give you a few examples of such prayers from Most Holy Family Monastery:

And no, Saints do not ignore prayers of people in mortal sin! Provided you ask for help, however bad you are or however lost you feel, you will still gain some help and graces. Sure, the more hope and good will you have, the more graces you will receive. But it is not true to say that they will ignore you. Even with the weakest faith on earth or with no faith at all, you will still gain graces enough to save your soul, provided you only ask for help and want to be saved! You don’t have to ask everything from God all the time if you feel a hard time to approach Him, you can also go to the Saints and ask for their help – and they in turn will turn to the Blessed Virgin and beseech Her in your place, and She in turn will approach God with your request through the Saints. Even though all saints go to the Blessed Virgin, it is false to think that Saints should not be approached and prayed too also. Please start to pray the prayers from the link provided above, and you will notice an increase in spiritual strength and hope almost immediately. They are very powerful prayers from powerful Saints. Start to pray them everyday, I am not kidding you how much good they will do in your life. As for my self, they have done me tremendous good and often I have gained back all hope and confidence after having prayed them when feeling down or sad! Pray and you will see, pray and you will believe! If you do not pray, you will not see, and what is worse, you will loose even this grace (i.e., these prayers: http://www.mostholyfamilymonastery.com/catholicchurch/prayers-to-saints/)!

You say that if you died now you would go to Hell but that you are not yet dead and that there still is hope therefore for you and then you wonder how you can save yourself! I will give you the answer to this question! Please follow it! It is correct to say that as long as you are alive you can be saved. Never forget that! If you really want to know how to save yourself, please follow my advises on prayer, spiritual reading, and how to think positively about God and about yourself when feeling down or fallen. (Also see the post script below for more information on how to save your soul and lead a better and holier life). If you do so, you will be saved. Please also reread this email a few times if needed.

I hope this answers your questions, and that it has given you some hope and light. Never loose hope! If there is anything else, do not hesitate to contact me and I will try to help you to the best of my abilities.

Sincerely,
Jerome

Q&A: On Salvation at the Last Moment; The Mystery of Damnation and Free Will; The Malice of the Devil; The Unforgivable Sin and Eternal Hell etc.

Question: “Hello, Could you please tell me if there any Priests who you have faith in, at present?? How does one go to confession in these times? Can we be saved without Absolution?........Do you put much faith in the promise attached to the Brown Scapular of Mount Carmel?....St. Simon de Montfort, didn't seem to put much faith in it. Do you believe people can be saved at the last minute?.....(Not meaning to 'Promote' Presumption).....Could you tell me what the In-forgivable sin Is? Very Hopeful of your response. Very Sincerely,
Michael.”

Hi Michael,
To your first question: no, at present there are no priests I have faith in - but that could change in the future.

As to your second question, that was addressed in this post:

As to your third question, yes, one can be saved without a priestly absolution (provided no catholic priest is available) and you have a desire for confession.
But there are some requirements that are necessary to be fulfilled in order to be saved and forgiven one's sin both with or without priestly absolution. That is addressed in some detail in this article:

Please read it carefully, since it specifically addresses your question.

The fourth question. [If I put much faith in the Brown Scapular.] Yes I do, since the Brown Scapular and praying the Rosary is part of the Fatima message, and, according to Sr. Lucia, there will be no other new helps from Heaven in our day and age than the Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary (also part of the message) and the increased efficacy granted to the Rosary (yes, all problems can be solved by praying the Rosary - this was the solemn promise by the Virgin and people who doubt this, or don't pray the Rosary after having been informed, are missing tremendous graces and risk damning themselves for their bad will and faithlessness).

I already addressed some of these points in the most recent post, which can be accessed in the below link:

You then say St. Louis de Montfort did not put much faith in the brown scapular. I don't know where you got this information from…. Just because he did not write expressly on the benefits of the scapular as he did the Rosary, or the Consecration, or the Virgin Herself, does not mean he did not put great confidence in it.

St. Louis de Montfort is probably one of the greatest Marian saints in the Church, considering the love and devotion he had for Her, and especially considering the fact of the devotions and secrets of Mary he was graced to make known to the world! Viewed in this light it is not hard to see that he had great confidence and love with everything to do with Our Lady, including the scapular—even if he did not expressly mention it.

As to the question whether people can be saved in the last minute, to this I answer yes, but I add even more: people can be saved even in the very last moment. This is not only the teaching of Our Lord in Saint Bridget's Revelations, but is also the teaching of the Church and Her theologians and saints.

Since it is our last will that determines our destiny, all that is needed for salvation is to stop resisting God and His will. This "resisting", such as obstinate attachment to sin, can be repented of even in the last moment.

Since all that is needed is an act of the will, and an act of the will is made in a moment (the decision of the fallen angels was also an act of the will, and was an act of a moment) - that is why salvation is possible even up to the last moment of life.

This truth is explained by Our Jesus Christ thusly in St. Bridget's Revelations:

"My mercy also spares the evil for a threefold reason: First, because of my great love, for their eternal torment will be long. For that reason, because of my great love, I tolerate them until the last moment so that their torment will be delayed by the long extension of time here in the world." (Book 1, Chapter 25)

"In this way I patiently endure mankind even until the last moment, since I am both father and judge. But my justice is unchangeable, and even though it sometimes is postponed a long time, I will still either punish sinners who do not better themselves or show them mercy if they amend themselves." (Book 1, Chapter 56)

Speaking of a damned soul: "The voice of the sun seated on the seat was immediately heard: ”There is more vice than virtue here, and it is not just that vice should be joined to the summit of virtue.” The Ethiopian answered: ”Then it is just for this soul to be joined to me, for while he has some vice in himself, there is total wickedness in me.” The knight answered: ”God's mercy accompanies every person until death, until the very last moment, and then comes the judgment. Soul and body are still joined together in the man of whom we speak and he still has the power of discernment." (Book 4, Chapter 7)

Speaking of a soul being saved at the last moment: "After this sight, the Ethiopian replied: ”O Judge, the soul's sins have now been punished according to justice. Now join the two of us, this soul and me, so that we may never be separated!” But the armed soldier replied: ”Hear, Judge, you who know all things! It concerns you now to hear the last thought and feeling that this soul had at the end of her life. At the very last moment she had the following thought: 'O, if God would only give me enough life, I would gladly make reparation for my sins and serve him all the rest of my lifetime and never more offend him.' O Judge, such were her last thoughts and wishes. Remember, too, Lord, that this person did not live long enough to acquire a fully understanding conscience. Therefore, Lord, think of her youth and treat her mercifully!” A reply was then made from the book of justice: ” Last thoughts such as these do not deserve hell.” Then the judge said: ”Because of my passion, let heaven be opened up for this soul once she has undergone purgation for her sins for as much time as she is bound to suffer, unless she receives assistance from the good works of others still alive.”" (Book 4, Chapter 51)

A damned soul speaking of his will to sin even unto the last moment: "The soul answered: ”My intention was to sin unceasingly and never desist. However, because I knew that I would not live forever, I decided to sin up until the very last moment and that was my intention when I was separated from my body.” Then the Judge said: ”Your conscience is your judge. Therefore, say in conscience what sentence you deserve!” The soul answered: ”My sentence is the most bitter, wretched suffering to endure without end and with no mercy.” Then the devils went off with the soul after hearing his sentence." (Book 4, Chapter 134)

"Answer to the fifth question. ”As to why I permit myself to be blasphemed, I answer: It is written that when King David was avoiding his son's persecution, a certain man cursed him along the way. When his servants wanted to kill the man, David forbade them for two reasons: first, because he had a hope of returning; second, because he was mindful of his own weakness and sin and of the ignorance of him who had cursed him as well as of the patience and goodness of God. I am David, figuratively speaking. People persecute me with their wicked deeds, like a slave who chases his master, and they throw me out of my own kingdom, that is, out of the soul that I created and that is my kingdom. Then they find fault with me, like a criminal finds fault with his sentence, and they even blaspheme against me, because I am patient. Because I am mild, I suffer their foolishness. Because I am the Judge, I wait for them to convert until the very last moment. Finally, since people in general believe more in falsehood than in truth, and love the world more than me, their God, it is no wonder if the wicked are tolerated in their wickedness, for they wish neither to seek the truth nor to recover from their wickedness.”" (Book 5, Interrogation 12)

Of a soul being saved in the last moment: "Then said Justice again out of the Book: 'What did he love when he was in agony with the pain of death?' Then both answered: 'He loved himself, for he was more agonized with the sickness of his body and of the tribulation of his heart, than he was of the Passion of his Redeemer'. Then spoke Justice again and said: 'Still seek and look for what he loved and thought in the last moment of his life, while he still had a whole conscience and understanding'. Only the good angel answered: 'The soul thought thus. 'Woe', he said, 'to me, for I have been overbold against my Redeemer. Would God I now had time in which I might thank God for his benefits. Because it grieves me more that I have sinned against God than the pain of my body; and though I should never attain heaven, yet would I serve my God'. Justice answered out of the Book: 'For as much as you, fiend, may not see the soul for the brightness of his light, and you, my angel, may not touch the soul for his uncleanness, therefore this is the judgement; that you, fiend, purge it; and you, angel, comfort it until it be brought into the brightness of bliss. And to you, you soul, it is granted to look to the good angel and to have comfort from him; and you shall obtain the blood of Christ and the prayers of his Mother and of his Church'. ... But the king obtained no charity until the last moment of his life; for then his strength and his conscience were failing, yet he obtained of my grace godly inspiration, by which he sorrowed more of not worshipping God than of his own sorrow and harm. And this sorrow means that light by which the fiend was blinded and knew not where to lead the soul. Yet he said not that he was so blinded for lack of spiritual understanding, but because he marveled how that in that soul should be such clearness of light and so much uncleanness. The angel knew well enough whether to lead the soul, but he could not touch it until it was purged. As it is written, 'No man shall see the face of God but he be first made clean.'" (Book 8, Chapter 48)

As to the unforgivable sin, often misunderstood by protestants and unbelievers and unlearned—as can be seen in the "blasphemy challenges" made by God haters, i.e., they renounce or blaspheme the Spirit, thinking that they thus damn themselves without hope of forgiveness in an act of defiance against God and salvation—is not simply to blaspheme the Holy Spirit and then, no matter what you do afterwards, you cannot be forgiven and are damned! That is incorrect. One can always be forgiven by God even up to the last moment, provided you yourself want to be saved and give up attachment to sin.

Haydock Catholic Bible commentary on Matthew 12:31-32 (on blaspheming the Holy Spirit):

"Now this kind of sin is usually accompanied with so much obstinacy, and such wilful opposing the Spirit of God, and the known truth, that men who are guilty of it are seldom or ever converted; and therefore are never forgiven, because they will not repent. Otherwise there is no sin which God cannot, or will not forgive to such as sincerely repent, and have recourse to the keys of the Church. (Challoner) --- Whosoever he be, says St. Augustine, that believeth not man's sins to be remitted in the Church of God, and therefore despiseth the bounteous mercies of God, in so mighty a work, if he continue in his obstinate mind till death, he is guilty of sin against the Holy Ghost. (Enchir. lxxxiii. ep. 50. in fine.)"

What the unforgivable sin is, then, according to Catholic theologians, saints and bible commentaries, is to die in obstinacy against the Holy Spirit's willingness to forgive your sins and enlighten you with His truths. All people who die in damnation dies with a will obstinate against the Holy Spirit, and thus damns themselves. Since they rejected the forgiveness of the Holy Spirit, they died with a will against God and thus, will be eternally separated from God by their own will.

Yes, all damned souls choose to hate God and to be sent to Hell (this is how much they hate God with their will!) and even could they be forgiven, they would not want to be forgiven, as explained by numerous examples in St. Bridget's Revelations of damned souls. This is the mystery of damnation and dying without sanctifying grace. Since only God's grace enables us to do and will and wish good, those who die without this grace are hence unable to do good or wish any good. They are filled only with evil and hatred, and cannot want or wish but evil, and they will be united with their Father the devil, who was the originator and creator of evil.
And yes, that is another mystery, that even though God created only good, Lucifer, by his own malice and will, created evil from his own free will (i.e, he made that exist which hitherto had never existed--evil) when he eternally set up his will in obstinate opposition against God's will with an irreformable will that he (and all damned souls with him) will never change. And he did all this only because he wanted to be above God and because he did not want to humble himself and serve Him!

That this is the truth of the fall of Lucifer (devil) is expressly revealed by the devil himself in the Revelations of St. Bridget:

Then the devil appeared in the same moment. Our Lord said to him: “You were created by me and have seen all justice in me. Answer me now whether this new bride of mine is lawfully mine by proven justice. For I allow you to see and understand her heart so that you may know how to answer me. Does she love anything else as much as me or would she take anything in exchange for me?”

The devil answered: “She loves nothing as much as you, and rather than losing you, she would suffer any torment, if only you gave her the virtue of patience. I see like a bond of fire descending from you to her and it ties her heart so much that she thinks of and loves nothing but you.” Then our Lord said to the devil: “Tell me how she pleases your heart or how you like this great love I have for her.” The devil said: “I have two eyes; one is corporeal, although I am not corporeal, and with this eye I perceive temporal things so clearly that there is nothing so secret or dark that it could hide itself from me. The second eye is spiritual, and I see so clearly with it that there is no pain so small that I cannot see and understand to which sin it belongs. And there is no sin so small or slight that I do not see it, unless it has been purged by repentance and penance. But, although there are no body parts more sensitive and vulnerable than the eyes, I would still much rather desire that two burning torches without end penetrated my eyes than for her to see with the eyes of the spirit.

I also have two ears. One is corporeal, and no one can speak so secretly and silently that I do not immediately hear and know it through this ear. The second ear is spiritual, and no one can have such a secret thought or desire for any sin, that I do not hear it through this ear, unless it has been washed away by penance. And I would gladly prefer that the suffering of hell, surging forward like a stream and spreading the most terrible hot fire without end flowed through my ears than that she should hear anything with the ears of the spirit. I also have a spiritual heart, and I would gladly let it be ceaselessly cut to pieces and constantly renewed to the same suffering in order for her heart to grow cold in your service and love.

But, since you are righteous, I now have a question for you that you may answer. Tell me, why do you love her so much? Why did you not choose someone holier, richer and prettier for yourself?” Our Lord answered: “Because justice demanded this. You were created by me and have seen all justice in me. Tell me, while she is listening, why it was justice that you should have such a bad fall and what you were thinking when you fell!”

The devil answered: “I saw three things in you. I saw your glory and honor being above all things, and I thought about my own glory. For this reason I became proud and decided to not merely become your equal, but to be even higher than you. Second, I saw that you were mightier than all others, and therefore I desired to be more mighty than you. Third, I saw what would happen in the future, and since your glory and honor are without beginning and would be without end, I envied you and thought that I would gladly be tortured forever by the most bitter punishment if, thereby, you would die. And with such thoughts and desires I fell, and immediately hell was created.”

Our Lord answered: “You asked me why I love my bride so much. Assuredly, it is because I change all your malice into good. For since you became proud and did not want to have me, your Creator, as your equal, therefore, humiliating myself in all things, I gather sinners to myself and make myself their equal by giving them my glory. Second, since you had such an evil desire that you wanted to be more mighty than I, therefore I make sinners more mighty than you and partakers in my power. Third, because of your envy against me, I am so full of love that I offered myself up and sacrificed myself for the sake of everyone through my death.” Thereafter, our Lord said: “Now, devil, your dark heart is enlightened. Tell me, while she is listening, what love I have for her.”

The devil answered: “If it were possible, you would gladly suffer the same pain in each and every limb just as you once suffered on the cross in all your limbs, before losing her.” Then our Lord answered: “Since I am so merciful that I do not refuse my mercy and forgiveness to anyone asking for it, ask me then humbly for mercy yourself, and I will give it to you.” The devil answered: “Never shall I do this. For when I fell, a punishment was established for every sin and for every worthless word and thought. And every spirit or devil that fell will have his punishment. And before I would bend my knee before you, I would rather swallow all the punishments in me, as long as my mouth could be opened and closed in punishment, so that my punishment would be forever renewed.”

Then our Lord said to his bride: “See how hardened the lord of the world is and how mighty he is against me because of my hidden justice. I could indeed destroy him in a moment through my power, but I do no more injustice to him than to a good angel in the kingdom of Heaven. But when his time comes, and it is now approaching, I shall judge him with his followers. Therefore, my bride, may you always persevere in good deeds. Love me with all your heart. Fear nothing but me. I am namely the Lord over the devil and over all things created.” (Book 1, Chapter 34)

Also: "A primary reason that Hell must be eternal is that the only condition that matters to man is the present condition. But the real reason why Hell is eternal is because at death the will will be fixed for eternity. "It is because our wills" a lost soul said "were fixed for eternity at the moment of death. We had made our final choice. Our obstinacy will never leave us." (Cry of a Lost Soul). Thus, the damned will never repent and will never cease to hate God and will never seek forgiveness for their sins even if it were granted to them, "because he [the soul] was rejected by Him [God], such a person cannot but hate Him with all the strength of his wicked will. We died with willful resolve to be separated from God. Do you now understand why hell lasts forever!" (Cry of a Lost Soul). This is the real reason why Hell must be eternal." I highly encourage you to read St. Bridget's Revelations if you have not done so already, since it is one of the best books one can read in order to learn the Catholic Faith and grow in the Love and Fear of God:
